Einar Johansen was an influential Danish ceramicist whose work played a pivotal role in the Danish modernist movement of the 20th century. He is best known for his long-standing collaboration with the renowned Soholm factory on the island of Bornholm. His best-known work for Soholm is the 'Blue Series' characterised by deep cobalt-blue glazes over a dark brown base. Textures: Many of his designs feature relief patterns, such as geometric shapes, or abstract sun motifs. His table lamps are currently highly sought after by collectors, often featuring rich “drip glazes” or sculptural forms.
